Playing in front of a lively home crowd, the team showed real character from the very first whistle. The match was a tight, competitive battle, with both sides creating chances but defending bravely. It was the hosts who struck first, taking the lead midway through the first half, but the Lions responded with determination and composure.

Their equaliser came shortly before the break, finishing off a well‑constructed move that showcased the team’s teamwork and attacking intent. The second half brought more end‑to‑end football, with the Lions pushing hard for a winner while staying disciplined at the back. Despite several close calls at both ends, neither side could find a decisive goal, sending the tie to penalties.

What followed was a shootout full of tension and courage. Every player who stepped up showed remarkable confidence under pressure, and the Lions held their nerve to edge the contest 6–5. A crucial save from the goalkeeper proved to be the turning point, sparking huge celebrations from players, coaches, and travelling supporters.

Reaching the cup final, only conceding two goals is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the squad’s hard work, resilience, and togetherness throughout the season. The team now look ahead to the final with excitement and belief, which is against Bracknell Town on the 18/04/2026 at Ascot United Football Club.
